Welcome back to the Tribe!

Today we want to update everyone on the Zed Run official tournament!

Here is what we are going to discuss:

  • Zed Run official tournament
  • Qualifying for quarter finals, semi finals, finals, and grand finals
  • Tournament prizes

Nothing should be considered investment or financial advice. Enjoy the ride!

Zed Run Tournament

The hottest news in the Zed Run space is the recent tournament that the platform has launched!

The tournament is for all distances, all horses, and will ultimately end up with only a hand full of winners for huge cash prizes.

The first ever ZED RUN tournament will start with a two week period called the qualifiers starting on October 15, 2021.

The best showing horses for all distances over the period will qualify for the tournament.

The cool thing about this tournament is that all races will qualify you no matter if they are a paid race or a free race. Every race counts towards qualification.

In addition, Zed Run has changed free races to no longer have a prize pool.

The previous rewards for winning a free race will now go towards the official tournament prize pools!

Zed Run Race

Qualifying For Quarter Finals

The tournament is based on a leaderboard that is broken down by the three sets of distances over 30 races that are run in the allotted time from October 15 to October 30.

Here are the sets of distances a horse can qualify in:

  • Sprinter category: 1000M, 1200M, 1400M
  • Mid Runner category: 1600M, 1800M, 2000M
  • Marathoner: 2200M, 2400M, 2600M

It is important to note that a horse will only qualify for ONE set of distances that it ranks highest in. A single horse will not qualify in more than one distance set.

After October 30th, the top 192 horses in each distance set will be chosen. In total, 576 horses will be selected across the three sets of distances.

The way the horses will be selected is by their show rate on the first 30 races run in between October 15th and October 30, no matter the distance run!

Horses will rank in the distance set they raced most in.

For example, if a horse runs 15 races in 2000M, 5 in 1000M, 5 in 2200M, and 5 in 1800M here is how it will break down:

  • This horse will be placed in the Mid Runner category since it ran a total of 20 races (out of the first 30).
  • The races for the 1000M and the 2200M will still be counted in its average for show rate
  • If the horse places in the top 192, then it will be selected to compete in the Mid Runner Category

Quarter Finals

Afterward for the quarter finals, the top 192 horses in each set of distances will be given additional races to run in their respective distances.

  • Sprinters will run at 1200M
  • Mid tier at 1800M
  • Distance at 2400M

The cool thing about these races is that only the top 3 of each race will continue on in the tournament. In addition, each race will be grouped by class and horse skill.

For instance, the top horses will race against each other in class 1, while the same happens in class 2, 3, 4, and 5.

This will happen for all the sets of distances to make for more competitive and better races.

After the quarter finals, 48 horses in total will progress to the Semi finals for each set 0f distances or 144 horses in total.

Semi Finals

The semi finals will consist of 12 races across all sets of distances.

This will be the first part of the tournament where horses are NOT separated by class or ability.

For the semi finals, horses will be randomly placed in races (still in their preferred set of distances).

For instance, a class 5 1800m runner could be placed against a class 1 1800m runner in this part of the tournament.

Each distance set will have 4 races for the horses to run. The top 3 horses from each race will progress to the Finals

This means that only 12 horses from each distance set will be in the finals!

Run Finals

In the finals, there will be 36 horses in total left over.

  • 12 horses in the sprinter category
  • 12 horses in the mid tier
  • and 12 horses in the marathon runner category

This is where things heat up since theses are the tip top horses from all distances and all classes.

There will only be ONE race run per distance set, and the top 4 horses will advance to the grand finals from each race.

Zed Grand Finals

Once we have our 12 BEST horses in all of Zed, it will be time to let those horses go head to head. This will be the first part of the tournament where the top horses will directly compete across all distance sets.

Here is how the grand finals will play out:

  • First race: 1000M
  • Second race: 1400M
  • Third race: 1600M
  • Fourth race: 2000M
  • Fifth race: 2200M
  • Sixth race: 2600M

In addition, the 12 horses racing in the grand final will be given points per race that will contribute to see who is the best in the business! Here is how the points will be given out:

  • 1024 points for first
  • 512 points for second
  • 256 points for third
  • 128 points for fourth
  • 64 points for fifth
  • 32 points for sixth
  • 16 points for seventh
  • 8 points for eighth
  • 4 points for ninth
  • 2 points for tenth
  • 1 points for eleventh
  • 0 points for twelfth

The winner will be determined by the amount of points each horse accumulates over the 6 races!

Zed Tournament Prize

Tournament Price

But what about the prizes right? Here is how the prize structure will break down:

  • 13% will be given out in the grand final amongst the 12 horses
  • 19% will be given out in the finals amongst the 36 horses
  • 23% will be given out in the semi finals amongst the 144 horses
  • 45% will be given out in the quarter finals amongst the 576 horses

In addition, here is how the prizes will be given out:

  • First place finishes will get 60%
  • Second place finishes will get 25%
  • Third place finishes will get 15%

Welcome back to the Tribe!

This is our sixth Zed Run Blog post! In this one we want to talk a bit more informally about our opinions of Zed Run right now.

Here is a quick run down of this post:

  • Giveaway update
  • Racing update
  • Our Zed Run Opinions

Nothing should be considered investment or financial advice. Enjoy the ride!

Zed Run Blog Post #6

Here is an update for the Sanfrancisco Tribe Zed Run journey!

Giveaway Update

Finally, our MAIN give away has concluded.

We tried to give as many people a chance to enter as possible, but sadly not everyone can get lucky and win the prize.

For our giveaway we had over 200 emails, and we had 25+ people with over 50 entries each.

personally, we learned a lot from doing our first giveaway. The main thing is that choosing a winner was EXTREMELY hard.

Not that it was hard to click “select a winner”, but that it was hard for us to only have one horse to give away. We would give everyone a horse that entered if we could…

Anyways, we have selected a winner for the giveaway!

That person is: Ranch Hand Stable!

We are very excited to give them our Z7 legendary Finney that will come from two of our BEST horses in our stable.

We wish them the best of luck with this horse and in their Zed Run journey.

Stay tuned though because we may do another giveaway near the years!

Racing Update

We have won 84 races so far! We are coming very close to our 100 win goal by years end which is extremely exciting.

In addition, we have 99 second place finishes and 68 third place finishes!

84 wins

While we were progressing faster earlier in the week, racing has become much more competitive in the last few days thanks to the official Zed Run tournament.

Not competitive in the idea of not being able to win, but competitive in the sense of finding the right races.

For the past 2 days it has been almost impossible to get a decent 2200M or 2000M race in class 1 that isn’t over $20.

While we could race the expensive races, we like to stick to the $5 and $10 races. This is simply because we can track profit much easier that way.

Although, we have found a very suitable down classing method for a few of our horses that hover around class 3 which helps consistently bring in more profit and wins over time.

Zed Run Opinions

For the last part of this post, we just want to openly discuss Zed, how we feel about the platform, and some opinions we’ve recently developed.

The first thing we want to cover is racing.

Zed Run Races

While we have finally started to get a handle on racing, it really is difficult to get used to it. Not to mention the amount of money you have to put into a horse, races, and time just to learn how to do it.

We are finally profiting daily, but it really is a struggle even with decent horses to find the right races.

Not to mention constantly monitoring your horse’s stamina and making sure they are staying in the right class.

It really is a skill that takes 500-1000+ races to develop.

Not only that, but most people probably do not have the money to put into racing or the time to fully understand it.

We feel like Zed needs to do something to help on-board people easier in the future. Maybe the free races without rewards should stay to help with horse discovery or racing strategy development down the line.

Zed Run Community

As always, the community has been extremely positive.

While the discord has been a toilet bowl on days when the platform is down, for the most part it is still filled with people trying to learn and contribute.

Not to mention the amount of content creators is growing and expanding weekly.

One thing the community should do is start to create more educational resources. Maybe even someone should build a racing and breeding course?

It still feels like a lot of the top tier knowledge is kept out of reach or simply still unknown to many people.

NFT Horse

The last thing we want to discuss is NFT horse price.

It is worry-some to see a lot of the price floors start to drop.

Basically in the past month, almost every genesis price floor has halved with some horses being sold even lower than that.

When we started, a Z3 gen Szabo unraced was around 3-4 eth and some people are buying them for under 2 which seems trouble some.

In addition, it seems to be harder to stud out horses that are not pulling over a 10% win rate.

While this is concerning, it also shows market development. As the platform continues to grow, certain horses will become essentially worthless to the market.

In addition, as people continue to educate themselves more, there will be less people buying crappy horses or studding horrible ponies.

In all, we feel there needs to be a better placement for the “bad horses”.

We are not sure how to really fix this, but it would be nice to see Zed put some effort in this department moving forward before a handful of horses just become meaningless NFTs.

Welcome back to the Tribe!

This is our fifth Zed Run Blog post! Time flies when you’re having fun.

In the past week we have taken advantage of the stamina changes to race our horses a lot! We’ve learned so much in just the past week that we can’t wait to share with you.

  • Racing update and discussion
  • Social growth

Nothing should be considered investment or financial advice. Enjoy the ride!

Zed Run Blog Post #5

Here is an update for the Sanfrancisco Tribe Zed Run journey!

Stable Update

While we were making a bunch of purchases, we have recently slowed down. Not due to lack of belief in the project, but simply because we reached our limit that we wanted to put into Zed!

We have also given away 3-4 horses. Those horses would be in our stable, but we promised to do this when we started.

These horses helped bring 4 new people into the Zed eco-system! We just thought of it as giving back to the community that was so welcoming to us when we started!

Giveaway Update

Speaking of giving away horses…

Our giveaway is still live for those still wanting to enter for a free legendary Z7 Finney!

You can go here to enter!

The giveaway ends on the 14th of October, but the winner will have to wait a week or two to receive their horse.

Early in October we went to stud our Nak Z2 to give a horse to someone that we mentioned above and something went wrong.

Coincidentally, that was the same day breeding was messed up on Zed. Out Nak never showed in the stud farm that night.

Frustrated, we went to sleep for the night and woke up to our horse completely studded out at the minimum to random people.

This made us have to postpone giving a new user a horse, and push back our giveaway slightly. Not the cut off date, but the actual date where we give the horse to the winner.

We hope people will understand as we are just trying to help the community out and do our part after all.

Racing Update

We have won 75 races!! In addition we have 90 second place finishes and 56 third place finishes!

75 wins!

Clearly, we have been busy racing to go from 40 wins to 75 in only a few days!

There are a bunch of things we want to cover with racing that we have learned. So the rest of this post is really just going to be a racing blog/overview.

Here is what we want to cover:

  • Our stable racing strength
  • Mistakes we made racing early on
  • Our favorite horse to race

Racing Strength

Ironically, we never planned to race in our stable.

When we broke into Zed, we mainly bought horses with good stats to stud and breed out. It was never our intention to race ironically.

Although, we have found that some of our horses are decently strong racers!

Most notably are Idol Meaning (Z2 Gen Nak) and More Traditional (Z5 Gen Finney).

These two horses can each hold their own at different distances in class 1 which is impressive.

Idol Meaning goes even at 1600m with most horses, pulling a decent amount of flame. Although, we found out that he is even better at 2000m this week. Therefore, we have fully switched to racing him there which has proved much more consistent over all producing more wins.

More Traditional had the same problem. We got him with a record on the 1600m distance, but soon found that he excelled at the 2200m distance. He has won a good amount of races and stands up to some of the toughest horses in C1 thus far.

We are very pleased overall with our stable since racing really was an after thought!

In addition, the most recent add on to our team Anyone? has proven to be a great 1600m racer.

He flamed all the way till C1 and then we threw him into a tough C1 race to test his limits.

Sadly, we did find his limits in C1, but he will stud out for a great price moving forward thanks to his record thus far.

Racing Mistakes

We want to take a minute and review some of our mistakes.

While success and winning is great, we have definitely made plenty of “oops” moments along the way.

In particular, we made the mistake of racing all of our horses straight to C1 thinking they could handle it.

In the past week alone we realized how horrible this idea was and quickly had to forgo some profit to fix it.

One horse in particular, Different Gravey, we had to class back all the way to C3 to be profitable.

Favorite Horse

Our favorite horse is kind of a tie between two.

The first is More Traditional. He is just a strong consistent horse even in class 1.

Really there isn’t much to this horse. You just sign him up and hope he gets in top 3 (which he does over 40% of the time).

The second horse is Major Speed.

This horse is just fun because it races in class 3 at 1200m. Then classes down in class 2 at 2200m almost perfectly.

Really it is just front to back with this horse which makes him super easy to manage.

Social Growth

Our Twitter has continued to grow into October which is awesome!

We have surpassed our goal of 500 followers!

In addition, our email subscriptions on the site has more than doubled in the past month as well!

Zed Run Blog Post #4

Here is an update for the Sanfrancisco Tribe Zed Run journey!

Stable Update

anyone?

Although we sold one horse, we already purchased another!

  1. We welcome our most recent acquisition Anyone?, a Z3 Szabo Colt! We have already started breeding this horse with pretty good success in the stud farm! Honestly, we are a little nervous to race it, but we probably will at some point.
  2. We sold our second offspring Bedtime that was a Z12 exclusive Buterin colt. It actually turned out to be a pretty good horse! We listed it on Opensea just to see if there were any takers and what do you know! Someone just had to have it.
  3. We are also still selling our horse Fire Style! Click here if you are interested in him.

We will be studding out our Szabos we got this week! Be on the look out for Anyone? and Little Choosey in the stud farm soon!

Giveaway Update

Our giveaway is still live for those still wanting to enter for a free legendary Z7 Finney!

You can go here to enter!

This giveaway will continue through October. There have been some breeding issues on the platform recently, but we will make sure to get the winner gets the horse we promised regardless of the Zed bugs!

Racing Update

We have won our first 41 races, with 55 second place finishes and 25 third place finishes!

Racing Update

Racing has been a constant learning experience, but we are slowly starting to get around the track.

Our win rate has dropped a little bit as we continue to race new horses and experiment on distance. In addition, we oddly got a huge amount of second place finishes. If there is one thing we want to work on, it’s changing those second place finishes into first place ones!

What we have noticed so far is that it is VERY important to be the last or next to last horse to enter a race. Several times we will research a race, enter as the top contender, and a stronger horse will enter after us in the last spot available. Not sure if this is a bot doing this, or just bad luck. Either way, the new strategy for us is to enter last or next to last to try and prevent this!

Our goal is still to get to at least 100 wins before the end of the year. Realistically, we should be able to accomplish this within the next couple of weeks, but there has been some platform issues that are keeping us from racing that we will discuss at the end.

Our First Tournament

We finished up our first tournament the Jockey Club Classic!

We would like to thank our friend over at MJ Stables for being such an awesome team captain. He picked up our horse Blue Fire for his team!

The tournament was a success in the fact that everyone who participated had a good time doing so. We personally learned a lot this go around. If we were to do it over again, we would definitely do things differently. For instance, Blue Fire was not the best horse for the tournament.

Blue Fire is a class 1 u-shaped horse which really does not bode well for tournaments. In tournaments, you want to enter your most consistent high placing horse. There were 9 races counted towards the tournament over the weekend. As you can guess, Blue Fire was all over the place.

While still a strong horse, we would have entered a horse that is in a lower class in order to capitalize on easy wins. While we did not preform our best, we still enjoyed the experience and have plenty to take away for next tournament!

Social Growth

Our Twitter has continued to grow into October which is awesome!

We are close to 500 followers which puts us in line to accomplish our goal of 1,000 followers by years end!

NASCAR Drop

There is tons of talk around the community about the recent NASCAR pass drop that the Zed Run team did.

While there are a ton of opinions and ideas, the main point should be clear to the Zed team.

Put your users first.

It seems that this might be forgotten over at HQ, but they need to remember this for the success of the platform. The main anger stems from people simply buying these passes in bulk to flip, sell, or simply just to hold preventing the actual users from obtaining them.

Zed needs to start to use their community more for these kinds of things, or risk losing people in the masses.

Either way, the event and passes themselves are exciting to see since the platform will gain more features down the line involving them.

Zed Run Bugs

The other thing to discuss are the constant bugs on the platform.

While it is in BETA, there are a large number of bugs to consider. Just these past two weeks we have encountered several:

  • Horses not showing up in stud farm, regardless of time or filtering
  • Horses not being able to stud out due to issues in the timer
  • A horse didn’t enter the stud farm for hours, and then randomly went in over night causing us to lose our offspring essentially. Not to mention, these were offspring that we were going to GIVEAWAY to people that are new to Zed…
  • Obviously racing issues (but that is world-wide for the entire platform and community)

We understand that things take a while to fix and the the platform is going through growing pains.

Although, they need to focus on this stuff.

Not only that, but they need to acknowledge their mistakes to the community, and be more open about development. We are all here to support the team and the platform, but it really is hard when they ignore the users and do not address obvious issues. This needs to change for the survival of the platform.

Zed Run Blog Post #3

Here is an update for the Sanfrancisco Tribe Zed Run journey!

Stable Update

Rosebery Affair

  1. We welcome our most recent acquisition Rosebery Affair, a Z5 Finney stallion! We ultimately plan to breed this horse, but first we will take some time to race it just to see if it has potential.
  2. The next horses that we welcome into our stable is Fire Style, a Z12 exclusive Buterin that is the offspring of Blue Fire and Different Gravey. It has shown some promise, but we will wait to see how it performs long-term. We are planning to sell the offspring, so you can pick this one up here if you would like.
  3. The last addition to our stable is Bedtime, a Z12 exclusive Buterin colt that is the offspring of Blue Fire and Major Speed! Again we will race this offspring some, but ultimately plan to sell it. If you are interested, you can find Bedtime here!

We are very excited to continue to see our stable grow!

As we grow, we are still trying to figure out what we like best on the platform. Only time will tell, but we are going to continue to try our hand at everything for now.

Giveaway Update

Our giveaway is still live for those still wanting to enter for a free legendary Z7 Finney!

You can go here to enter! If you go through our Tweets, we have already sent out the secret phrase as well for 25+ extra entries.

Make sure to keep up with our Twitter if you want to be included in all of the giveaway secrets and extra entries!

Racing Update

We have won our first 32 races, with 43 second place finishes and 19 third place finishes!

stable update 3

We are very proud of our success in the racing scene.

Our win rate has dropped some as we experiment with some new distances on a few horses, race offspring, and race the new horse to our stable!

Slowly we are finding out where our horses race best. It really is hard getting the hang of racing, but we are going to stick with it for a while!

Our goal is to get 100 wins before the end of the year, but we are fairly sure we will pass that!

We’ve Entered Into Our First Tournament!

The tournament we have entered in is the Jockey Club Classic!

We are extremely excited to be included in this. Luckily, our friend over at MJ Stables picked up our horse Blue Fire on his team!

To be completely honest, we had no idea what to expect when we entered. Although, we are more than happy just to be along for the ride this tournament for the experience.

Studding Out Horses

While we are still figuring out this breeding thing, we are happy to be able to stud out some of our top horses.

Most notably, we have Welcome Home, More Traditional, and the new Z4 Szabo Little Choosey all in the stud farm.

We are still experimenting with good market pricing for the horses, but overall we think they will all make great breeders so go check them out for us!

Social Growth

Our Twitter has continued to grow throughout the month of September!

We just broke 400 followers, and we are pushing to break 1000 by the end of the year!

We appreciate every single person that is following our journey! Thank you all so so much.

Zed Run Blog Post #2

Here is an update for our stable!

Most recently we made another acquisition of an unraced, unbred Z4 Genesis Szabo! We are extremely happy with this purchase since it is our first U/U that we have purchased. The horse’s name is Little Choosey! We will be racing him today and breeding him in the coming days into our stable to hopefully produce some great offspring with our outstanding mares.

little choosey

Already this horse had a strong showing:

  1. Little placed 3rd in his Griffin race (the first Griffin we ever raced)
  2. He placed 2nd in a 1400m class 1 race AND 2nd in a 1400m class 2 race
  3. Finally he placed 9th in a free 2400m class 2 race

This horse is already showing a ton of potential. From what we can tell so far, it will be a mid-distance runner for 1400m-2000m. We will also be breeding out this horse with our horses: Major Speed, Fire Destiny, and Royal Captain! Be on the look out for some offspring coming out of our stable soon.

  • Our giveaway is still live for those still wanting to enter for a free legendary Z7 Finney!

You can go here to enter! If you go through our Tweets, we have already sent out the secret phrase as well for 25+ extra entries.

Make sure to keep up with our Twitter if you want to be included in all of the giveaway secrets and extra entries!

  • We have won our first 19 races, with 28 second place finishes and 8 third place finishes!

sanfrancisco tribe update

In just a few days our 10 wins has turned into 19, and we had a strong second place finish run one day where almost 50% of all our races for the day finished in 2nd. We are still trying to get a handle on the racing aspect of the game.

Our current strategy is to map out every horse in an Excel document, record flames and competition levels per race. Then we review it everyday to try and expand our understanding of each horse.

So far, we are seeing more flame and higher place finishing with this model. Although, we know that as Zed Run continues to develop and add more features, so will our model. Currently, we are pretty happy with results, but would love to turn those 2nd place finishes into first place ones very soon.

With breeding only a few days away for our stable, we are excited to welcome new horses into our racing line-up given they show potential!

  • We launched a recent partnership with Danshan and some of the top stables in the community

This week we launched our first post for the series: On The Track

We can not explain how happy this makes us. The community had a great response to our initial article on Pac Protocol Racing. we really appreciate Pac’s help in getting us all the necessary information for the article.

At the present moment, we already have 20 stables lined up for On The Track interviews with the next post coming 9/22/2021 on Upper Moon Racing. Each post will have similar format of questions to keep things consistent. The main purpose for the posts are to:

  • Learn how people started in Zed Run
  • Find out the top stables strategies to share with the community
  • Educate people about the Danshan Blood Tool

If you have not seen our first post, please check it out and give us some feedback! In addition, subscribe to be informed when the next one goes out!

Upcoming Things For The Tribe

We have been very busy over at the Tribe with the partnerships,  On The Track series, and just doing horse research in general.

There are a couple of secret projects we also have in the works like:

  • The Commander’s Cup – a tournament we will host in 2022 so be on the look out!
  • Ranking plaques – considering 3-d printing plaques for those stables who are showing outstanding performance
  • Blog development updates – we are constantly building out pages and moving things around
  • More giveaways – we know you guys like giveaways, so more are on the way.

These are just a few things we have been working on in the background so stick around and be early to the party!

Social Growth

Since joining Zed Run, our Twitter and Subscriber counts have both doubled.

This is amazing to say the least, and we want to thank everyone for being involved with us and helping to promote what we love to do.

We will continue to push to grow these counts hopefully into the thousands as the year drags on!
